microMEDIA's fax to email services utilize microMEDIA's
document conversion services to convert paper-based
documents into digital form. Fax to email leverages current technology
and melds it with prior workflows.
microMEDIA receives facsimile documents,
inspects them and applies processing rules that convert a fax to
email. We also can perform one of a number of functions to
expedite processing, cut turnaround time and improve
responsiveness:

Re-route faxes
to one or more recipients. This is generally done through
preprinted barcodes on the pages or barcode header
sheets inserted before the documents. Barcodes or text that can be recognized by computer (Optical
Character Recognition - OCR) or Intelligent Character
Recognition (ICR) is used to automatically redirect the
document to the right locality. If automated recognition
of the document isn't
possible, our technicians visually read the digitized
version of the facsimile and then manually route the
facsimile to the appropriate person or area.

Convert
faxes to
electronic images and transmit
them as e-mail attachments. Using the capabilities
above, we can deliver the faxes in electronic formats such
as TIFF, PDF, JPEG, etc. and attach them to e-mails .
Implementing automated techniques or manual processes, we
can selectively convert pertinent sections of a document,
such as Customer Name, Shipping Address, Part Number, Price,
etc. The selected information could be sent as a text file
or entered into spreadsheet columns.

Format
fax information as input to computer processing systems
by analyzing the pertinent information within a fax,
selecting the data required and formatting a data stream
specifically configured for host computer input.
Secure transmit of the formatted data may include
encryption, Virtual Private Network (VPN) transmission, etc.
The information can then be used for further processing for
order entry, invoicing, shipment tracking, proof of
delivery, etc.
